Clear Lake, Sunny Days

Advertisements

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is Things That Are Hot.

It’s late May, and we are staying in a small cabin on the shores of beautiful Clear Lake — one of the oldest lakes in North America — during our annual fishing trip with family and close friends.

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours on the deck of an open bass boat while the Big Guy chased after some elusive and surprisingly clever bass.  Every time I felt the sun was about to melt me down to nothing, we’d run a little way in the boat to get cooled off.  These little jaunts never last long enough for me.

Next morning I set out for a walk around the area near our campground.  Even as early as 8:30 in the morning, the temperature is starting to climb as I hike to the top of a nearby hill to enjoy the view.

It’s a steep climb, but the view is well worth all the perspiration.

Flowers are bursting out in the warm spring weather.

And while the temperature cools quite a bit in the evening, that California sun just keeps on glowing long after it’s dropped below the horizon.
