February Flowers
In honor of Leap Year 2016, I’m sharing some of the amazing flowers I’ve been seeing around my neighborhood this month.
Since this is the first time in my life I’ve started paying much attention to flowers, I had to do quite a bit of internet research, trying to ID each one. Thanks to Google and the awesome Wildflower Identification Guide, I think I’ve done surprisingly well, although some of the seemingly common wildflowers are still in my “mystery” category.
Narcissus
Gazania
Periwinkel
Golden Poppy
Henbit
African daisies, white
Winter vetch
Rosemary ‘Logee Blue’
West Coast Gem hisbiscus
African daisies, mauve
Lavender wildflower
Cherry blossoms
Indian Lettuce
Menzies Fiddlehead
Happy Leap Day! Spring is nearly here 😀

Great series of such lovely flowers, well captured.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy them.
Beautiful photos and I can relate to being busy by searching for the name of the flowers ☺. I love the Poppy and the purple Hibiscus is amazing! I have a yellow one in my archive and some other more common colours but never saw a purple one. Thanks for sharing!
You’re very welcome, and thanks for your comment. I think one of the best things about reading blogs is learning about things you otherwise never would have encountered. 😀
I agree! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Having a blog has opened my eyes up to my surroundings, too. Thanks for sharing, quite a few of these grow around here.
