Hello, Peter Sagan!
I’m very happy right now because we just got back from standing along the side of the new Folsom Lake Crossing bridge for 2 hours, watching the Individual Time Trial of the 2016 Amgen Tour of California. This meant that every 2 to 3 minutes (more or less), a professional cyclist would flash past us; and if we happened to miss them the first time, going east, all we had to do was wait for them to come back around, going west.
We were all incredibly lucky too because the weather, which was cool and sometimes blustery, very kindly decided to wait until just after the race ended to blow up a rainstorm.
The Big Guy and I both took lots of pictures, and I can’t wait to share them — but for the moment, I’ll just post one. This is Peter Sagan, the 26-year-old Slovakian rider who is presently the UCI World Road Race Champion. He won the Amgen Tour of California in 2015 — that’s why he’s wearing the number 1 on his back. He’s incredibly popular with race fans, and his special time trial suit is green because he currently holds the Sprint Jersey, which means he’s leading the points competition.
We had a blast watching the race this year, and I’ll be sharing more about it soon!
