The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of January 13, 2017.

Ambience has the power to uplift your mood. What have you photographed with exceptional ambience?

I was in the middle of the Botanical Garden in San Francisco, but as I climbed that steep, narrow trail, surrounded by beautiful plants and trees that were unfamiliar, I felt transported to the Southeast Asian Cloud Forest.  It was hard to tear myself away, but there was so much more to see!

    • That’s certainly true. When I chose these pictures it occurred to me all my favorite shots are of places more or less created by humans. I love these places and some of them are very special. But I also feel a little envious of those who can get out in the wilderness, away from the heavy influence of human hands.

      • Indeed; I feel happiest wandering in places where no trace of man or his works can be seen. These are not easy to find, particularly where it holds good even with an extensive view into the distance from a height.

  1. I love Botanical Gardens. Sorry I missed this one when we were in SF a few years ago. But we only had a few days, so there’s only so much that can be seen. Another time.

    • Agreed! I spent two hours in the Botanical Gardens, and I felt like I was rushing through! I would love to go and spend a week or two in San Francisco. I have a long list of things I’d like to see (or see again) and to photograph.
