Young eagles

The mother eagle teaches her little ones to fly by making their nest so uncomfortable that they are forced to leave it and commit themselves to the unknown world of air outside. – Hannah Whitehall Smith

I heard these juvenile bald eagles before I saw them on my hike this morning. All the warning signs along the top of the bluff have been taken down, but if you follow your ears and keep your eyes open, you may very well see the youngsters in the area. They’re clearly still learning how to eagle. I couldn’t resist sneaking closer for a better look, although I had the sun in my face and tree branches screening my view. It was all worth it!
