Beals Point and Folsom Dam from Knoxton Point

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of July 26, 2017

This week, share something that satisfies you.

Every year The Big Guy buys the yearly pass to our State Park system. Most of the time he uses it to launch his bass boat at the various lakes in our area. But he’s been telling me for awhile that I should take the pass and go exploring some different trails than my usual stomping grounds. I knew he was absolutely right, and yesterday I finally got around to taking his advice.

I think it’s been close to 30 years since I hiked the trail between Brown’s Ravine and New York Creek, and this year the water level is high and Folsom Lake looks lovelier than it has in years.

After an 8-mile hike along the Brown’s Ravine Trail on this beautiful summer day, I’m feeling pretty darn satisfied.

    • Yes, it’s very peaceful and a wonderful place where I feel like I’m getting away from it all — even though just up the hill behind me is a neighborhood with big expensive houses overlooking the lake. 😊

      • It’s the same in my neighborhood with the lake we go for walks. It’s on the hill with views. Realtors bought old home, custom built homes with 1/2 acre land, sold for at least $2 millions or more. Since the park is under the city Parks and recreations, many people enjoy it. 🙂
