The Adventure Continues… Crookedest Street

Lombard Street in the mid 1990s

I’d never seen this episode of California’s Gold before today — but since I’m leaving on a short trip to San Francisco in a couple of days, I thought I’d get myself into the right mood. I’ve walked up Lombard Street once, about 20 years ago, and it was quite an experience… but nothing like the experience Huell had. I didn’t see nearly as many cars, tourists, or gorgeous flowers!

I hope you enjoy this episode; and watch out for the surprising twist at the end!

Huell goes in search of the crookedest street in the world. A small section of Vermont Street in the Potrero Hill section of San Francisco is just miles away from the more famous Lombard Street. Which street is crookeder? Huell grabs a gang of experts and finally solves this mystery.

  1. Nice video, and a good picture of Lumbard Street. I have taken photos of the street a couple times. I think last time was 2001 when my dad came to visit me from Hong Kong and we took him and my brother to SF.

    • A funny thing about that photo — I had bought a disposable camera for the trip, but once I arrived in the city I realized I had bought a panoramic camera by accident! All my prints are long and thin. 😑
