Memory Monday slides redux, Week 32
Spring/Summer 1962 — My last few slides from the 1960s cover our family trip to the northern coast of California, specifically Sue-meg State Park (formerly Patrick’s Point SP, the name was changed as of September 2021). Even though I can’t really remember the details of this visit, I do have a warmly nostalgic feeling about Patrick’s Point and a burning desire to revisit and hike the same trails. I originally posted most of these images in April 2017. Let me also note that — even though I’m pretty sure it was shot on a foggy day — I’m very disappointed by the fact my re-scan of Agate Beach turned out so colorless and drab; there are quite a few better versions from the same angle to be found online, like the one here.
Finally, from Summer 1962, I had no idea until many years later that my beloved steed “Cocoa” was a hand-me-down!
Next week I’ll be leaping forward into the 1970s — see you then!

The photos were preserved well. Most pics from that era look somewhat washed out by now.
Precious memories!
