From the heights to the creek

I spent half the day hiking along the South Fork of the American River near Salmon Falls, and there’s so much to see and explore that I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. The water level has risen since our last visit, so I missed out on seeing the old Salmon Falls bridge that pops out of the water during drought years. But I can’t feel too disappointed when I realize how beautiful this area is. And I had much of it entirely to myself, except for a few geese!
