Memory Monday, Week 143

This week I have slides from winter and summer, in two very different locations. First up, January 1981, when I took a quick trip with my mom and dad up to Post Falls, Idaho. We went to visit my grandpa; and although we only stayed for a couple of days, the whole journey was something of an adventure for me. Before we even left California, we were driving in snow, something that was a completely new experience for me (luckily, I wasn’t doing any of the driving). We also traveled along smaller, more isolated roads, taking Highway 97 from Klamath Falls and later driving east on Interstate 84 along the Columbia River to Spokane, Washington. My mom shot these photos along the road and around Post Falls.

The next group of photos is probably from around the same time period, although a very different season. I’ve tried and failed to figure out the location — it must be somewhere in Northern California and feels so familiar, but I just can’t put my finger on it. I’m especially curious about the bridge, and I wonder if it still exists or if it has been replaced by something more modern.
