Memory Monday (Mexico)

Advertisements

This week I have a handful of slide images from December 1981 that I’ve hesitated to share for awhile. Although I was present for at least some of them, my memories are very vague, and I wish I could remember more details. I actually kept a small journal but it provides only sparse information. My family was spending Christmas and New Year’s at my sister’s home in El Cajon (east of San Diego), and on December 31 I tagged along when Mom and Dad made the 2-hour drive south to Ensenada. We did a bit of shopping and then on the return trip stopped somewhere in between Ensenada and Tijuana to say hello to a few people Dad knew from previous visits. Since I didn’t understand much Spanish, most of the conversation went over my head. All that I can recall is that the young man’s name was Moisés; I don’t know if he was permanently disabled or just recuperating from an injury, but I suspect it was the former.

To be honest, I’m not sure if the goat photos were shot during this brief trip to Mexico, but since they were grouped together in Mom’s slide collection I’m including them here. It’s hard to go wrong with goats!
