Forests of Flagstaff

Advertisements

I’ve been showing you a lot of photos from the areas of Lake, Napa, and Mendocino counties lately, so today here’s something a bit different — Flagstaff, Arizona. Last June on the second night of our road trip to Texas, we decided to treat ourselves to a stay at the 3.5 star Little America Hotel. We enjoyed the large, comfy room and carefully landscaped grounds; but the very best part of our stay was the trail that wound through the ponderosa pines. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started on this trail loop in the late afternoon/early evening, but it gave me a decent workout while providing some truly beautiful surroundings. In the forest, I forgot about the six hours spent driving through hot, arid, flatlands that day — and the similar trip that awaited me in the morning.
