Clouds, departing

Hi there — this is the second week of my Wednesday series featuring episodes of Huell Howser’s show, California’s Gold. I’m sharing links to the archived videos, partly because I’ve always enjoyed watching the series, and partly because I’m discovering there are an awful lot of episodes I’ve never actually seen — like this one. There are literally countless success stories in […]
Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for this week is Dark Reds. This week the color is Dark Reds – Red, Burgundy, Maroon. You can show off photos you have taken of any dark red colors. Have fun with this challenge this week.
We have been providing love to our kids long enough now that a number of our earlier children have returned to visit the home they remember with fondness, and to thank us for the love they received while here. Often they portray their time with us as the sole bright spot and changed focus of an otherwise troubled youth. Remember […]
The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of September 30, 2016. For this challenge, show us what nostalgia means to you — perhaps a moment or scene that makes you feel wistful, happy, sad, or somehow longing for the past. It might be with friends, family, or by yourself — anywhere, anytime of year. The Academy of Sciences has changed quite a lot […]
Welcome to my new Wednesday series! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now, and I think today is a fine day to start! For more than two decades, viewers of public television in California have come to know and enjoy the work of Huell Howser as he explored little corners of the state and invited us to […]
Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is Light Greens. You can show photos you have taken of Spring with its bright green leaves, light pastel greens to neon green and lime.
One of the long-term projects of Frank Gonzales’ organization was building an orphanage in Tepic, Mexico. I never visited the site, but my dad returned there several times.
I’ve already posted about the day I spent in the Delta on a boat looking for bass — my response to The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge, Quest, is here, and there are plenty of other Quests to be found here. But it occurred to me that riding in a bass boat, capable of traveling upwards of 50 miles per hour over the water, is something that a lot of people probably haven’t done. I thought it might be fun to try and share the experience, or at least some of it. I don’t have a GoPro camera, just my phone. And trust me, I was hanging onto it for dear life! I hope you enjoy the video.
