We never know what to expect on our trips to the coast, and this trip is looking pretty promising, judging by the first day or so. I finally got my wish to see some cows up close. They were fairly mellow, although I know enough to be cautious around animals of this size! And I’ve found a few other cool critters to photograph as well.
My first sighting of a Red Admiral butterfly
This Great Blue heron was standing motionless for so long that at first I wasn’t even sure it was a live bird! It wasn’t until we moved closer that it revealed itself; it may have been stalking a frog in the marshy meadow and seemed slightly annoyed at our passing along the nearby trail.
