A hollyhock flower, known in Japan as aoi (葵), was incorporated into the official seal of the Tokugawa shogunate in Japan, and through this influence has maintained importance in modern Japanese culture… The Aoi Matsuri (Hollyhock Festival) is one of the three main festivals of the city of Kyoto — from Wikipedia.
If I had gotten up a little bit earlier this morning, I would have been able to capture these cactus blooms without the challenge of full sunlight. But they were still extremely attractive — especially to a honeybee, who just couldn’t tear herself away even though both her pollen baskets were full.

I missed the full bloom of this Cleistocactus winteri flower, but it still looks pretty good to me. These succulents originated in Bolivia.
