For me, mornings are absolutely the best time to be at Lake Natoma — whether I’m up near Lake Natoma Crossing or down at the other end, near Nimbus Dam. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get myself out of the house, but once I’m outside, I always feel better.
A few images from my Friday morning hike around Lake Natoma.
The sunrise that greeted me this morning shone blood-red over Lake Natoma, thanks to smoke from distant wildfires. It was an impressive but sobering sight.
All three of these gorgeous roses belong to my neighbor down the street. She puts so much time and effort into her garden that even when I’m not having a great day, I can’t resist stopping to take pictures!
