I saw quite a few hummingbirds out at Folsom Lake this week, along the trail to Doton’s Point. I feel lucky that I managed to shoot a couple of them — especially with those amazing colors! They really are very cool little birds.

This is the time of year when our camellias bloom, then drop their petals onto the driveway, where they wither away. Sometimes I’ll find an intact flower lying on the ground, somehow more delicate and beautiful than when it was still alive, on the bush.
