May flowers

Today we had a very lovely rainy morning, and once the skies cleared — at least somewhat — I went out with the dog and found some more flowers, most of which I was able to identify with help from Google. Like the gorgeous pineapple guava blooms (Feijoa sellowiana) below:

African iris

It took some persistent poking around on Google, but I finally identified these graceful flowers as Dietes bicolor, or African iris. They initially caught my eye because of the triangular shape and dark spots. Each flower lasts only a day, but is quickly replaced by another.
