My entry for Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge this week.
I was trying to capture the bright red reflection of the sun in the train window. Instead I got a very nice candid shot of a fellow commuter.
The smoky conditions continue — our Air Quality Index (AQI) at 5 p.m. is 175, and the smell of smoke is everywhere. The almanac reports sunset today is at 4:52 p.m. — but the sun was already disappearing behind a thick bank of smog at four o’clock.
The sunrise that greeted me this morning shone blood-red over Lake Natoma, thanks to smoke from distant wildfires. It was an impressive but sobering sight.
