Musician at large

I met Kenny last July as he sat in front of the local CVS chain drugstore.  He complimented my car (a 1972 Chevy El Camino), and I complimented his guitar.  We chatted for a few minutes, and he told me he spends a lot of time around Negro Bar.  When I confessed I was working on learning to play the mandolin, he offered me a few helpful tips from the depths of his experience.

That was four months ago and I haven’t run into him since then; but the other day when the Big Guy happened to mention he’d recently seen a man sitting under the Lake Natoma Crossing playing guitar, I wondered if it might be Kenny.  And I suddenly remembered that Kenny had invited me to look for his videos on YouTube.

I’ve never had to worry about not having a roof over my head, but I know that, in different circumstances, any of us might find ourselves in a similar situation. Today, the weather here is windy, cold and very wet.  I’m really hoping that Kenny is warm and safe somewhere.
