Over my life, I’ve taken many, many trips by car, and a few by airplane. But I think my most exciting and enjoyable trips were the ones when I traveled by train. Just going to the train station, even if I’m not actually boarding the train myself, is enough to give me a small thrill — because, hey, maybe I WILL buy a ticket, climb aboard, and take off down the tracks. Why not?
