I’d Rather Be…

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of March 14, 2018.
If given the choice, what would you rather be doing, right now?
On most days — if the weather isn’t too miserable — I’d much rather be outdoors, letting my curiosity guide me as I explore the hidden trails around Lake Natoma and Folsom Lake.

On this particular morning, I had planned to check out the new Robber’s Ravine bike bridge and then head inside to enjoy Folsom Library’s used book sale. After getting a few nice shots of the bridge and the newest stretch of the Johnny Cash Trail, I suddenly noticed a small dirt path that diverged from the paved bike trail and led downhill toward a grove of trees and a gurgling creek. As much as that room full of used books was calling to me, I just couldn’t resist the sight of the empty trail as it crossed a small plank bridge and disappeared among the hills and the oaks.
