Roughing it

As we hiked out on Mississippi Bar recently, we found piles and piles of driftwood and debris that washed down into Lake Natoma during the winter storms. I’m not sure exactly where all this stuff came from, but there certainly is a lot of it.

Anybody want a slightly used chair?
We also found a couple of carefully constructed driftwood “teepees” — as the Big Guy calls them — a perfect place to escape the bright morning sun and rest your legs for a few minutes before moving on. These structures remind me of the ones I saw out at Folsom Lake last September while hiking the sandy shore north of Beals Point.
