One of my better photos, thanks to a cooperative ostrich

Since I mentioned the San Diego Zoo in last week’s post, I decided to dig out the old prints from my visit back in 1981. I’m certain it’s changed quite a lot since then although I haven’t had a chance to go back to Balboa Park. In 1981 my sister and her family were living in El Cajon, and my parents, my grandfather, and I drove down to see them in the middle of July. We had a nice cool, overcast day for our zoo experience — perfect for shooting pictures. It’s just too bad my photographic skills were nearly nonexistent!
