Macro Monday, Week 6
I wrote about the Pacific chorus frogs in my post last Monday; at the time I was a bit discouraged because I hadn’t been able to spot any on the local trails where I’ve seen them in past years. It could be that — like much of the other wildlife — they’ve been a bit late this year because of our unusually wet spring. Well, the good news is that the frogs are back! Thus far I’ve only seen them in a very small area along the trail, but their numbers seem to be multiplying. I’m still having a heck of a time photographing them. They are so very tiny, and extremely camouflaged; I only see them when they’re hopping, and they won’t let me get very close. These are my best shots so far.
