The Adventure Continues… Lunar Landing
You may have noticed that last week was the 50th anniversary of the moon landing; in fact, I loved the video Doodle that Google created in honor of the occasion so much that I just have to share it here:
With all this in mind, this week I chose an episode of California’s Gold from 2010 in which Huell gets to know a few of the people who made the moon landing possible and learns what a huge challenge they took on, with so much at stake and the entire world looking on.
Huell travels to Edwards, California to visit Dryden Flight Research Center, which is NASA’s primary center for atmospheric flight research and operations. Before man could walk on the moon, they had to land safely and the Lunar Lander needed a lot of fine-tuning. Huell meets up with some of the men who spent many hours working on and flying that amazing craft in preparation for the first moon landing.
