We meet again!

Early last October I made a day trip to San Francisco, via Amtrak train and Muni buses, to explore Fort Point and to seek out the western terminus of the Lincoln Highway. I wound up walking 10 miles that day, and I came home with 82 pictures on my camera’s memory card. All was well — until I lost every single image while trying to transfer them to my computer. If you follow my blog, you might know that I eventually did get back to Fort Point on a later visit.  But I had to wait until this summer to get back to the Lincoln Highway marker, which sits just across from the entrance to the Legion of Honor. It’s fairly easy to miss unless you’re specifically looking for it; but I took the trouble to look because the Lincoln Highway actually passes very close to where I live, and I’m fascinated by the history of this early transcontinental roadway.
