A blast from the past

My dream house would have floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in every room. In reality, I have only enough space for a few small bookshelves, so now and then I need to clear out some space. The other day I walked over to my neighborhood Little Free Library to donate a stack of paperbacks and browse the offerings. Even though I normally avoid reading abridged versions, I just couldn’t resist bringing this vintage Reader’s Digest book home with me! This is one edition I distinctly remember as part of my mom’s collection, which I loved browsing as a kid — I especially enjoyed the colorful illustrations. And as a bonus, I don’t think I ever read any of the selections in this book!
