Hiking above the shoreline of Folsom Lake near Salmon Falls on April 2, I noticed this guy standing on a rock, and I just knew he was about to dive in. He may not have been the first swimmer of the season, but he had to be right up there on the list! But that wasn’t the only thing that caught my interest.
After diving in, he had only swum a few short strokes before he stopped — and suddenly stood up! The water level is so low that all sorts of hazards which would normally be deep underwater are lurking just below the surface, causing potential hazards to not only swimmers but boaters as well. And a word to the wise: not all underwater hazards are marked with buoys.
