Feral felines

My neighborhood street is decidedly feline friendly — while my neighbors walk their dogs on leashes, cats tend to wander freely at all hours of the day and night. Whether or not a cat has a place to go home to, it never needs worry about finding a bite to eat. Since we lost our dogs a few years ago, we’ve gotten used to seeing cats cutting across our back yard and disappearing over the fence. Most recently, I’ve noticed a small family spending at least part of their time in our yard; I thought I counted three kittens at one point, but it’s hard to be certain since they dart away very fast any time they see humans.

…and with a grey & white kitten

Mama seems to be wearing a sort of red harness

I suspect this cat may have sired the kittens
