Family memories

On this Easter Sunday, I planned to dig into my archives and share a few vintage images of my sisters and I posing with the spoils of our morning Easter Egg hunt — like this one:

But of course, I waited until the last minute to start looking for the photo files. I’m certain I have them tucked away safely somewhere; but in the process of searching, I came upon a different set of old family slides that I had forgotten about. So today, instead of plastic Easter eggs, here are some professional photo proofs of my family. They have no markings to indicate the date, but they were shot at Stizzo’s Photography studio circa 1964-1965. I have 24 slides in total, so I’ve picked a few of the best and also included some of the “misses” — which I now think are the most fun to look back on.

Above, Wendy with her accordian. She must have been about 13 years old. I had actually completely forgotten about Stizzo Photography; what I do remember is that they had a music store in Roseville, and Wendy took accordian lessons there and played in their band.

Gwen, about 9 or 10 years old

This wasn’t the final version our parents chose, but I really like it!

I believe the rest of the photos were shot a year later, in 1965. Here you can see Wendy’s band uniform and patch, as well as her new accordian.

This is one of my favorite photos of Gwen

This is the photo I remember the most, as it was framed and displayed at home
