Along Arguello
There were a few brightly painted houses that caught my eye as I walked up Arguello toward Geary Boulevard to catch my bus. But I wasn’t expecting to find such a colorful garden of flowers growing right at my feet beside the sidewalk. It was too irresistible; I had to stop and check them out.
I was intrigued by the sign in this brick wall. The Camp Fire Girls organization was founded in the early 1900s as a counterpart to the Boy Scouts and became co-ed in 1975. The historic building behind the brick wall now houses a preschool, the Rosenberg Early Childhood Center.
