I’ve forgotten how and when I became the proud owner of this vintage aluminum tackle box — complete with a previous owner’s fishing license and a decal from the State of Oregon. I’m sure I had some idea of cleaning it up and using it to store some of my own doodads. But instead it’s been just sitting around my house. I can’t bring myself to clean it up or to get rid of it; I love it just as it is. Then, not long ago I came across a near duplicate, offered up for free on the local Nextdoor classified page. Unlike mine, it was pristine, and I was sorely tempted to make a more-or-less-matching set. I did resist the temptation, because two empty tackle boxes is just one too many for me.
