Shoshone Point

During our brief stop at the Grand Canyon last June, the Big Guy and I were hoping to find a picturesque spot populated by a minimum of people; the site we chose was Shoshone Point. I think we were very lucky — it was still fairly early in the morning when we arrived, and in order to find the view, we had to hike about a mile along a dusty road rather than just park and gaze. (It wasn’t until we were leaving and spotted the traffic backed up at the South Entrance Station that we began to realize, what we had taken for crowds was nothing.)
