Memory Monday: Prosser Creek Reservoir, 1986

Camping along the shore and under the pines

I’ve shared some of these images before, but it’s been quite awhile — specifically, July 2017. I decided to re-scan and edit the prints. I’m so glad I saved these photos because this was one of the first big trips I ever took with the Big Guy, back in July 1986. Prosser Creek is located not far from Interstate 80 in Nevada County, northwest of Lake Tahoe and east of Donner Lake. It was actually one of three small reservoirs in the area where we fished for trout, the other two being Boca and Stampede. Sadly, I haven’t been back to Prosser Creek since the 1980s, but I still have vivid memories of driving around on dusty gravel roads in my Volkswagen Beetle and taking an impulsive day trip to Reno for a pizza dinner.
