Happy Groundhog days

Hiking Mississippi Bar, February 3, 2005

Today I’ve been so busy I still haven’t checked to see the groundhog’s weather prediction for the next six weeks — although locally we’ve been alternating between sunshine and rain. I did have a small surprise when I realized it was seven years ago today that I had my first and only experience with indoor skydiving at iFly Sacramento. I’m very grateful that Mom took me along with her to share the gift certificate she received on her 88th birthday! I think we gave each other the courage to step up and try something we otherwise would never do. I cherish the videos of our flights provided by the facility. Below are a couple of screen shots.

A year earlier on Groundhog Day 2016 I was undergoing wrist surgery — another first for me, since I’d never had any sort of operation before (or since). And once I had started thinking back over the years, I decided to dig out a few old photos shot on or near February 2nd in previous years.
