The Adventure Continues… Coastal Cactus Garden

If you get a kick out of succulents, you’ll enjoy this episode of Visiting, originally aired November 2002. With a laid-back central coast vibe, a wide variety of cactus, and plenty of room for local artists to work out their creative urges, this former nursery along the coast a few miles south of Hearst San Simeon State Park was definitely a unique and very special place. Family owned for 30 years, it unfortunately closed its doors in 2012 and currently seems to be deserted and in disrepair.

Tucked away behind the Hamlet at Moonstone Gardens Restaurant in Cambria, is an expansive cactus garden. Join Huell as he strolls through this Central Coast gem filled with indigenous and exotic plants.
