Miscellaneous memories
Today I thought I would share a few images that I managed to overlook from the past year or so. Every now and then I’ll upload an image to my Media Library and then forget to insert it into my blog post, and that’s the case with the first three photos. I especially love the view of the Mendocino coast from the window of our AirBnB in Albion in October 2023. In the tow pictures below, you can see that the Lyon Street Steps in San Francisco get plenty of use. In fact, I saw one or two people running up and down the stairs — and getting a great workout!

I really loved my photo of the three-quarter moon over the trees in Williams when I shot it with my phone last summer. But when I started to share it in a blog post, I suddenly realized the moon was barely visible — just a small, white dot and not nearly as impressive as it looked in real life!

Going back a bit further, here are a couple of images from my last visit to the Sacramento Zoo in William Land Park four years ago. How time flies! The zoo now seems destined to relocate further south to Elk Grove some time in the future. It may be a good thing for the zoo itself, but it will certainly leave a big hole in Land Park, where it has been the grand centerpiece for nearly 100 years.
And finally, three photos from my most recent visit to Mt. Konocti. I shot these with one of my older cameras (Canon Powershot), one that I tend not to use much anymore. I completely forgot I’d brought it along on this trip; and in fact these three were the only Powershot pictures I’m not embarassed to share!
