The abandoned, Part 2

My limited series continues with some images from what I’m calling the beach house — or perhaps houses. They appear to be two separate houses sitting side by side, but according to Google there is only one street address. I found them on what I believe is state park property, perched above Manchester Beach and roughly half a mile west of Highway 1; hiking in from the trailhead I accessed, it’s a bit farther. I expected to find the site fenced off but it was completely accessible. We first spotted this pair of structures from below as we walked along Manchester Beach last November; I didn’t have time to check them out at that point, so on this trip I was determined to see more.

I honestly wasn’t expecting to find them so utterly derelict. There was a lot of graffiti, but I tried to avoid most of it when I shot my pictures — except for one message painted on the wall of what used to be a garage. These are only a few photos of the north structure; I still have plenty more to share in upcoming posts.
