Wandering

Christmas cardinals

My mission for last Sunday called for driving out to Denio’s swap meet in hope of discovering some sort of well-loved furniture piece for my all-too empty house; I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted, but it was a good excuse to get outside for a bit. Once I’d arrived and parked, I soon found myself wandering aimlessly among the crowded stalls, and it dawned on me that while I’d managed to get myself there, I didn’t really want to be there. I wasn’t sure where I did want to be; but since there was plenty of room to just walk, I made the circuit and shot a few photos before leaving without buying anything. I repeated this performance at the Antique Trove in Roseville (which is absolutely huge, by the way). Here I shot only one photo, but I did buy a book there (The Hiker’s Hip Pocket Guide to Sonoma County, Third Edition) before heading back home.
