Goldfields in bloom on Mississippi Bar, 4/7/2026

I know I haven’t been posting very much lately; there seem to be a lot of days when I’m either too busy or too tired (or both) to think of blogging. And I haven’t been shooting as many springtime photos this year, although I do try to make it a priority. But Gus and I went for a walk around the neighborhood this morning in between bouts of rain, and I managed to bring back a few images. I’ve added a few others from recent outings, like one above. Highlights of today’s short hike include discovering a couple of middle-aged teenagers on the wrong side of the fence hitting golf balls off the bluffs above Lake Natoma (and the bike trail) as well as a brief glimpse of a grey fox. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo of the fox, but I still felt lucky to spot one (Gus was completely oblivious).
