I’ve been very slowly working at transferring my old Hi8 videotapes to DVD, and from there to my hard drive. I’ve been editing them with Windows Movie Maker and then uploading — with a little additional editing — to YouTube. Much of the footage is devoted to our three dogs, Buster, Gabby, and Pinkie. My final results are far from professional, but that’s okay. Most of the videos are at least 10 years old, and I’m just very happy that I’m finally able to watch them with more smiles than tears. As I wrote in the description of this video on YouTube, Gabby wasn’t allowed on the furniture inside the house, but once we moved this old chair to the back patio, she adopted it as her own. Wanting to travel light, I tucked the small Fujifilm camera into my bag — although shooting pictures wasn’t my main goal. Still, as I paused in the shade of the bridge, the sun sparkling on the water caught my eye. I […]
The theme of Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is Hallways. Hallways come in all sizes and uses. They are usually thought of as indoor, but don’t forget about hallways that are outdoors and underground. Hallways usually have some great repetitive lines and shapes. Use your imagination for this theme. Aboard Amtrak’s Capital Corridor train: Sleeper car in the California […]
When you’re hiking along a hot, dusty trail on a summer day, it’s always wonderful to come across a cool stream running across your path, bubbling and singing as it drops down to the lake below. The combination of welcoming shade, colorful wildflowers, and sometimes even a few nice, sweet berries makes it possible to continue on down the trail. […]
