Two horses

The Pony Express horse and rider at the corner of 2nd and J Streets in Sacramento are a reminder of the city’s role as a vital mail terminus for 19 months before the completion of the telegraph lines in the west. The statue stands near the pedestrian tunnel leading from Old Sacramento to the heart of downtown.
