As we leave Mendocino County and head for home, I’m really going to miss exploring the trails above the seaside bluffs during my isolated morning walks. It’s a special treat to be able to leave my small cottage and walk to the trailhead, never knowing exactly what I might find — even things that I’m sure I must have passed […]
I have plenty of photos from yesterday’s visit to Lake Berryessa, but so far I think the one you see above is my favorite. I hope to share more images from the day before long; here are a few more in the meantime.
Yes, it’s still only February — but to walk along the Lake Natoma bluffs on a morning like this, you would never know it wasn’t the middle of April. Okay, our Airbnb wasn’t actually a mansion; but the tranquil beauty of the spot, so near the ocean yet sheltered by redwoods, made for a wonderful haven that I think I’d prefer to any ostentatious estate.
Muir Woods National Monument is such an amazing and beautiful place, it’s simply impossible to take it all in during a single visit. I finally had a chance to go there on a day trip last September; but despite shooting lots of photos, it still feels like a dream to me now! I’m not sure when I’ll make it back, […]
