Last weekend I was lucky enough to catch some of the festivities at the Roseville auction grounds when they held a dog fashion show and dachshund races. I was still getting over my head cold, but I couldn’t resist the temptation to drive out there and see the dogs and their owners having fun.

Most of the dogs got into the spirit of competition — and it’s harder than you might expect to snap a picture of a dachshund running all out for the finish line!

There was also a film crew and host from a Japanese TV show called Sekai no hate made Itte Q (which apparently translates to “Quest at the End of the World”).

Later on, there was a hot dog eating contest which the Japanese TV crew also filmed for their show; but I didn’t stick around to see that.  I did a bit of shopping and then, tired but happy, headed on home, like this little guy:
