It’s been a few years since I was last able to attend the annual Doggy Day dachsund races at Denio’s in Roseville. My last time was back in 2017, and the event has been on hiatus for the past two years. This year’s festivities were actually pushed back from their originally scheduled date of March 19 to April 23. But there’s no stopping these pups — they were clearly ready to get out there and run, and the weather cleared up beautifully for Saturday’s competition. I’ll have more images to share over the coming weeks, but here are a handful to start things off. Prior to the actual race, the crowd was treated to a very energetic demonstration by Roseville Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
