I chose this episode of California’s Gold this week in honor of all my own memories of road trips when I spotted some intriguing road sign or attraction and wanted to stop to check it out but didn’t, for one reason or another. I’m sure I can’t be the only one who’s had this experience! I’m still hanging onto my collection of fliers for places I promised myself I’d get back to someday — like the one advertising train trips in Cottage Grove, Oregon, or the Mystery Mansion Museum on Belleville Street in Victoria, B.C.
I haven’t yet made it back to either of those destinations, but in this episode, Huell takes the time to pull the car over to the side of the road and satisfy his curiosity.
Huell’s always on the lookout as he traverses the main roads and small streets of our state. In this program a 49er RV Park, an Air Museum and
Eureka Elk catch his eye and he just has to pull off the road to check them out.
