I’m in the process of paring down my sizable stash of yarn — most of it is recorded in my Notebook on Ravelry, complete with photos I’ve taken of each yarn entry. I’ve always tended to choose yarn based on colors and soft textures. But I’ve also learned the hard way that balls of yarn full of gorgeous color combinations don’t always look nearly so pleasing once they’re knit up.

That was the case with this Moda Dea brand ribbon yarn, called Ticker Tape, in the “Festival” colorway. I still love the way the colors play off each other in this image, but it didn’t take me long to realize I would not enjoy wearing the finished product.
