Memory Monday slides redux, Week 16

Northern California coast, 1956 — Up in the extreme northwest corner of California, you’ll find Crescent City, county seat of Del Norte County, home of the popular roadside attraction Trees of Mystery. Known to travelers of Highway 101 as the home of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, Trees of Mystery first opened in 1931. As I wrote in Memory Monday, Week 9:

The familiar figures of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox have been there since 1946 but have been replaced and repaired a number of times.  This 1956 version of Babe is actually still standing, although the head had to be replaced in 2007.

If you’d like to see more about Trees of Mystery, you can always watch Huell Howser’s 2007 visit to the park, which I featured on my blog back in February 2017!
