The Adventure Continues… Salmon Festival
Salmon season is in full swing here in Northern California, and the Nimbus Fish Hatchery has been a very busy place lately. An impressive number of salmon are coming up the ladder this year, staff are hard at work with egg-taking, and visitors have been swarming the facility to watch all the activity. One of my vivid memories of childhood is our annual Thanksgiving Day trip in late November to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery to see the salmon negotiating the fish ladder! With all that in mind, I’ve chosen this episode of California’s Golden Parks to share this week. I’d never seen this segment before, and I definitely learned a few things about California fish hatcheries and the very important work they do. The life story of the salmon never gets old!
